History of Alpha Pi Chapter

The idea to begin a chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. at the University of Toledo came into being when the members
of Zeta Xi Zeta chapter had the inspiration to bring Zeta to the University of Toledo campus. Alpha Pi chapter of Zeta
Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on January 4, 1995 by eight young women to bring the light of Zeta to the University
of Toledo.
Since the inception of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority at the University
of Toledo, Alpha Pi chapter was honored with the Most Improved Chapter in the Great Lakes Region. The Chapter also received
recognition for having 2 Sorors with the Highest G.P.A. in the region, as well as 3 of our Sorors to receive the undergraduate
Soror of the year. We have countined to strive for excellence in our GPA on the campus of The University of Toledo in maintaining
the Highest GPA for NPHC for the past 6 years.
Honorable recognition from The University of Toledo includes
co-Greek of the Year, N.P.H.C. Greek with the Highest G.P.A., Outstanding Senior Award, Most involved on campus 2007-2008,
Donated over 760.00 to charity 2006-2008, and we had 223 hours of community service per member 2007-2008.
The Alpha Pi sorors also provide service to the Toledo community
by working with various organizations and programs. These include, but not limited to:
Boys and Girls Club
YMCA's Women Shelter
Storks Nest Toledo Hospital
Womens Battered Shelter
The sorors of
Alpha Pi strive to provide examples of finerwomanhood, and showing sisterly love to all women regardless of organizational
affiliation, encouraging high standards of scholarship and academic excellence.
